A New York nightlife promoter is abruptly forced into parenthood in Jordan Firstman’s comedy-drama Club Kid, the closing-night selection of the 2026 Miami Film Festival GEMS showcase. Presented Thursday, November 5 at the Koubek Center, the Florida premiere concludes GEMS, the festival’s annual fall program running October 29 through November 5.
Firstman stars as Peter, a hard-partying club promoter whose nocturnal routine is upended when the 10-year-old son he never knew he had enters his life. Co-starring Cara Delevingne and Kirby Howell-Baptiste, the film moves between the excesses of the club scene and the demands of single parenthood, exploring arrested adolescence, responsibility and the uneasy process of growing up.
Written and directed by Firstman, Club Kid premiered at Cannes, where A24 acquired distribution rights.
