Collage Workshop with AIR Natalia Garcia-Lee

Magazines, books and newspapers provide the raw material for a collage workshop led by Deering Estate artist-in-residence Natalia Garcia-Lee. The session takes place Sunday, November 22 in the estate’s Pump House in Palmetto Bay.

Participants will learn about Garcia-Lee’s artistic practice, watch a live collage demonstration and spend time creating their own compositions. A multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in sculpture from Pratt Institute, Garcia-Lee works across painting, collage, drawing and jewelry, exploring human behavior and the ways individuals function within larger social systems.

Participants must bring their own printed materials, with papers preferably cut in advance. All other supplies are provided. Tickets cost $20 per person, with a 10% discount for Deering Estate Foundation members. Members should contact the foundation office for a promotional code before purchasing.
