From: 3:45 PM to 5:15 PM
Explore the transformative role of art in shaping culture and sparking dialogue with a screening of Come Together: Art’s Power for Change. This new documentary series debuts with an episode revisiting Dirty Laundry (2006), a trailblazing comedy that challenged conventions around identity, family and belonging. The film earned the Audience Award for Best U.S. Feature at ABFF.
The episode features reflections from cultural commentators including Keith Boykin, Crystal McCrary, Patrik-Ian Polk, Bevy Smith and Emil Wilbekin. A talkback with director Nathan Hale Williams follows the screening.
The event takes place Saturday, June 14 at the Miami Beach Convention Center as part of the American Black Film Festival lineup.
