Discover the vital role of South Florida’s coastal ecosystems in climate and species conservation during this summer’s Conservation Workshop Series at the Deering Estate.
On Sunday, December 13, the featured workshop, All About Sea Turtles covers the life history of the 3 species of sea turtles that nest in Florida. The session highlights the threats they face, what we can do to help and how the Miami-Dade Parks Sea Turtle Program works to conserve Miami’s sea turtles.
The series continues on Sunday, January 11 with How to us iNaturalist and on February 8 with Composting 101.
Workshops take place in the Visitor Center Exhibit Room. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under and Deering Estate Foundation members. Advance registration is required via Park Link; no on-site ticket sales are available.
