Environmental education takes center stage at Deering Estate with a spring series focused on conservation science and community action.
The Conservation Workshop Series takes place March 8, April 26 and May 10 in the Visitor Center Exhibit Room. Each workshop runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and features expert-led discussions exploring local ecosystems, marine life and environmental stewardship.
The March 8 session, “Inspiring the Next Wave of Water Protectors: Miami Waterkeeper’s Ambassador & Junior Ambassador Programs,” highlights youth engagement and advocacy efforts aimed at protecting South Florida’s waterways.
Upcoming programs include:
- April 26: “Biology, Ecology, and Conservation of Sharks and Rays in South Florida”
- May 10: “Watch and Walk: A screening by Miami-Dade Public Library System and Latino Outdoors”
Admission is $5 per person and free for children ages 12 and under. Deering Estate Foundation members receive a 10% discount with a promotional code obtained through the Foundation office. Tickets must be purchased online through the Miami-Dade County Park Link system.
