Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami: Le Corsaire Suite
May 16, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
Selections from the classical ballet Le Corsaire are presented by the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami in a staged performance at The Fillmore Miami Beach. The program takes place Saturday, May 16, featuring a suite of excerpts drawn from the full-length ballet and highlighting some of its most recognized passages.
Based on Lord Byron’s 1814 poem, Le Corsaire tells a romantic tale of pirates, captives and adventure, brought to life through 19th-century choreography and music. The suite format focuses on key moments from the work, including Le Jardin Animé, Pas d’Esclave, the Grand Pas de Trois des Odalisques and the Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, known for its technical demands and prominence in the classical repertoire.
The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami, under the direction of Eriberto Jimenez, presents the production with an emphasis on traditional ballet technique and storytelling. The performance offers a condensed interpretation of a historic work that has evolved through multiple choreographic versions since its 19th-century origins.
