Oct 27, 2021
7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Learn all there is to know about Cubas architectural influence on mid-century Modernist architecture. Led by Victor Deep and Jean Francois Lejeune, authors of the new book Cuban Modernism: Mid-Century Architecture, 19401970, the presentation will deliver an insightful look at how 20th-century architects drew inspiration from both vernacular traditions and avant-garde currents in defining a style that was both modern and Cuban. From luxurious nightclubs like the Tropicana Cabaret to Cubas celebrated National School of Arts, the authors will cover a selection of iconic projects as well as lesser known, previously unavailable visual material.
This event is co-hosted and co-presented with the Miami Design Preservation League. In accordance with MDPLs policies, participants are required to wear masks.
