Join Books & Books for an insightful panel discussion on Cuba's evolving role in U.S. national security on Thursday, September 19. This event brings together a distinguished panel of experts with deep knowledge of Cuba’s history, geopolitics and their impact on both the Cuban American community and broader U.S. policies.
Moderated by Andrew Otazo, a seasoned author and former Executive Director of the Cuba Study Group, the panel includes retired Navy Commander and U.S. House candidate Phil Ehr, University of Miami Associate Professor and historian Dr. Michael Bustamante, and Miami Freedom Project Executive Director Ana Sofia Pelaez. Each panelist brings a unique perspective on the historical and contemporary issues that have shaped U.S.-Cuba relations, including immigration, national security and domestic policy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Michael Bustamante, whose research focuses on Cuban exile politics and cultural policy; Phil Ehr, who offers a national security perspective shaped by his military career; and Ana Sofia Pelaez, who advocates for cultural representation and community engagement.
