Danny Mixon Quartet
Apr 12, 2026
Starting: 5:00 PM
Jazz pianist Danny Mixon leads a quartet performance blending classic and contemporary styles in an open-air setting along Ocean Drive. Taking place Sunday, April 12 at Lummus Park in Miami Beach, the concert is part of the free Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a weekly program of live music presented outdoors. The event invites audiences to gather on the lawn with blankets or chairs for an early evening performance.
A Harlem-born pianist with decades of experience, Mixon has performed and recorded with artists including Charles Mingus, Betty Carter, Pharoah Sanders and Dee Dee Bridgewater. His work spans traditional jazz, soul and improvisational styles, shaped by a long career as both a bandleader and collaborator, as well as his role as an educator in New York’s jazz community.
Presented by the Ocean Drive Association with support from the City of Miami Beach and the GMCVB, the series offers accessible live music experiences in a beachfront park setting.
