Dennis Cruz + Moodymann b2b Carl Craig

Detroit’s house and techno traditions share the booth when Moodymann and Carl Craig play back-to-back at Club Space. The Friday, November 6 lineup at the Downtown Miami nightclub also features Dennis Cruz and a second back-to-back pairing of Bakke and DJ Ray.

Moodymann, the alias of Kenny Dixon Jr., draws on soul, jazz, funk and disco in sample-rich productions that foreground Detroit’s Black musical heritage. Craig, a central figure in Detroit techno’s second generation, has explored electronic music through projects including Paperclip People and Innerzone Orchestra, extending his work into jazz and ambient composition. Their shared history includes Moodymann’s 1997 debut album, Silentintroduction, released on Craig’s Planet E label.

Spanish DJ and producer Dennis Cruz brings a percussion-driven approach to house and tech house, with releases on Solid Grooves, Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations. He also partners with PAWSA as GOLFOS. Rounding out the bill, Colombian-American Club Space resident Bakke draws from house, techno and earlier electronic styles, while Miami native DJ Ray oversees music programming at Jolene Sound Room.

The event is open to guests ages 21 and older.
