Disney's Fantasia in Concert
Jan 09, 2027
Starting: 8:00 PM
Hand-drawn animation and live orchestral music converge as New World Symphony performs alongside scenes from Disney’s Fantasia. The live-to-film concert takes place Saturday, January 9 at the Adrienne Arsht Center as part of New World Symphony’s 2026-2027 season. Conducted by Anthony Parnther, the program revisits Disney’s musical anthology through a concert format that pairs projected animation with a full orchestral performance.
Parnther brings extensive experience across concert music, film scoring and popular music collaborations. He is Music Director of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra and has conducted ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony and Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as recording sessions for film and television projects such as Oppenheimer, Encanto, The Mandalorian and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The concert offers audiences a chance to hear the classical music at the center of Fantasia performed live while the film’s animated sequences unfold on screen. Presented by New World Symphony, the evening connects one of Disney’s best-known screen-and-music experiments with the immediacy of a live orchestra.
