Don Juan: Pride and Paradise
Through Mar 05, 2026
weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Starting: 7:00 PM
An immersive dinner-theatre experience transforms Archana’s Homegrown Thai into the setting for a Caribbean reimagining of a classic tale.
Don Juan: Pride and Paradise is a bold musical adaptation of the Don Juan story, written and directed by Surinamese-American playwright Sefanja Richard Galon. Set inside a working restaurant in Coconut Grove, the production unfolds at close range, with actors moving through the space and scenes playing out just feet from the audience. The story reimagines Don Juan as a Jamaican fugitive newly arrived in Miami, balancing desire, ego and a high-stakes real estate deal tied to his powerful family, while his best friend Sergio navigates survival and ambition of his own.
Blending Caribbean music, live performance and immersive staging, the experience invites guests to engage with the narrative as part of the environment rather than as distant observers. Each ticket includes a complimentary drink and shared starters, making the production a date-night-friendly alternative to a traditional dinner or night out.
Performances take place at 7 p.m. on February 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26, and March 3, 4 and 5 at Archana’s Homegrown Thai in Coconut Grove. Presented by Maroon Isle Productions, the Miami-based theatre company is known for original, culturally grounded works that elevate underrepresented voices and bring immersive storytelling into neighborhood spaces.
