Edge of Hope
Mar 18, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A documentary screening and panel discussion during Miami Climate Week examines how climate change intersects with social inequality in South Florida. A presentation of Edge of Hope takes place Wednesday, March 18 at the Coral Gables Art Cinema.
Directed by Miami-based filmmaker Dudley Alexis and produced by Marcie R. Washington, the film explores how rising seas, extreme heat and intensifying storms affect communities already facing economic and social vulnerability. Through interviews with experts, organizers and residents, the documentary highlights how systemic inequities shape the ability of neighborhoods to prepare for and recover from climate-related disasters.
Following the screening, Alexis will participate in a panel conversation with community advocate Nicole Crooks and producer Marcie R. Washington. The discussion will focus on climate justice, community resilience and the lived experiences of residents navigating environmental change in Miami.
Presented as part of Miami Climate Week, the program offers an opportunity for audiences to engage with filmmakers, scholars and advocates addressing the human dimensions of the climate crisis. Tickets are priced at $5.
