Egyptian Lover Miami Music Week

Pioneering electro and Miami bass sounds converge for a late-night set led by Egyptian Lover during Miami Music Week. Taking place Thursday, March 26 at Sable Miami in Wynwood, the event brings together artists rooted in classic drum machine-driven genres alongside contemporary selectors. The night highlights the continued influence of early hip-hop and electro on today’s electronic music landscape.
Greg Broussard, known as Egyptian Lover, emerged from Los Angeles’ 1980s electro scene and became a defining figure in West Coast hip-hop through his use of the Roland TR-808. Tracks like “Egypt, Egypt” helped shape the sound of electro-funk, blending futuristic synth lines with funk rhythms and dancefloor-focused beats. Decades into his career, he remains active as a DJ and producer.
The lineup also features Miami-based DJ and producer Jesse Perez, on the decks for a freestyle and Miami bass-focused set. Additional performers include Rechulski, Soltek, Medley, Hiltronix and Branzino Boys, each contributing selections that span electro, house and underground club sounds.
Held in the Wynwood arts district, Sable Miami provides an intimate club setting for a night centered on rhythm-forward music and dancefloor culture. The event is open to guests 21 and older.
