Encuentro de Autoras Dramáticas Cubanas de Miami
Apr 11, 2026
From: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
A panel of Cuban women playwrights based in Miami gathers for readings and conversation at Books & Books in Coral Gables. Taking place Saturday, April 11, the event brings together contemporary voices in Spanish-language theater for an evening focused on authorship, identity and creative expression. Presented in collaboration with Miami Book Fair, the program highlights the work of writers contributing to the local and international literary landscape.
Participating authors include Gretel Delgado Álvarez, Legna Rodríguez Iglesias, Yamile Pedro and Carmen Duarte, with additional work by Cristina Rebull also featured. The program includes readings of selected excerpts alongside a discussion of themes explored in their plays, particularly the representation of women’s experiences through a critical lens that challenges traditional narratives.
The event emphasizes dramaturgy written in Spanish by women living in Miami, offering audiences the opportunity to engage directly with the authors and their work. Admission is free and open to the public, with RSVP recommended for general entry.
