Faena Jazz Series: Etienne Charles Presents A Creole Christmas

Caribbean rhythms reshape familiar holiday music in a seasonal jazz program led by Trinidadian trumpeter, percussionist and composer Etienne Charles. Presented Wednesday, December 9 at Faena Theater, A Creole Christmas is the fourth performance in the 2026–27 Faena Jazz Series.
Charles blends holiday standards with calypso, folk traditions, gospel, Venezuelan parang and jazz, drawing on the musical cultures of Trinidad and the wider Caribbean. The program places improvisation and percussion at the center of a holiday set shaped by Creole musical traditions.
The annual Faena Jazz Series runs from October 2026 through June 2027, with nine concerts curated and produced by Grammy-nominated producer and artist Rachel Faro.
