Family Day on Aragon
May 16, 2026 - Dec 19, 2026
monthly on the 3rd Saturday
From: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Moroccan art and storytelling shape this month’s Family Day on Aragon at the Coral Gables Museum. The monthly series takes place every third Saturday, with the May 16 installment offering free admission, family activities and hands-on workshops inspired by the museum’s exhibition Moroccan Visions. Presented with the Consulate General of Morocco and the Moroccan American Council Association of South Florida, the program introduces children and families to Moroccan culture through stories, artmaking and direct engagement with contemporary artists.
The day’s activities include:
- 11 a.m.-noon: Storytelling session
- 12:30-3:30 p.m.: Art workshops with Moroccan artists, with sessions adapted by age group and skill level
- 2-3:30 p.m.: Additional hands-on workshops with Moroccan artists
- Throughout the day: Selection of works by the participating Moroccan artists on view at the museum
Participating artists include Mostafa Naffi, Souad Byad, Mohamed Jaamati and Hanae Elhjaji, whose work explores painting, sculpture, the human figure, visual structure, emotion and contemporary Moroccan identity. Neighboring Books & Books also offers cultural activities later in the day, including author conversations and community discussions.
