Fire, Guitar, Legend
Oct 17, 2026
Starting: 8:30 PM
Spanish orchestral works, classical guitar and Russian symphonic storytelling come together as Teatro Real makes its Miami debut at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Fire · Guitar · Legend takes place Saturday, October 17, at 8:30 p.m., with the Orchestra of Teatro Real conducted by Gustavo Gimeno. The program features music by Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo and Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov.
Guitarist Juan Manuel Cañizares performs Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, one of the most widely recognized works in the classical guitar repertoire. Soprano Gabriella Reyes joins the program for selections by Manuel de Falla, including music from El amor brujo and Siete canciones populares españolas. The evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a symphonic suite inspired by stories from One Thousand and One Nights.
The performance is part of a United States tour by Teatro Real, the Royal Theater of Spain, and is conducted by Gimeno, principal conductor of both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Teatro Real. This is a rental event presented by an independent organization separate from the Adrienne Arsht Center.
