FIU Music Festival: All Star Jazz

Catch a star-studded lineup of Grammy-winning artists, jazz greats and FIU’s top ensembles at the FIU Music Festival 2024's All Stars Jazz showcase on Saturday, October 26 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center. Alfredo Chacón, a virtuoso percussionist and vibraphonist with over 25 years of touring experience, has collaborated with artists like Paquito D'Rivera and Bebo Valdés. Grammy-winning trombonist Julio Montalvo blends Afro-Cuban rhythms with modern jazz, known for his work with David Bisbal. Trumpeter Thommy Lowry, a prolific composer and producer, has performed with Buena Vista Social Club and Chucho Valdés. Pianist Yan Carlos Artime, a celebrated Cuban composer and arranger, has toured with Eliades Ochoa and Orlando Valle. These powerhouse musicians will be backed by the FIU Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Michael Eckroth, and the FIU Jazz Big Band, led by Aldo Salvent.
