Contemporary chamber music and multimedia collaboration shape an FIU concert focused on new and experimental sounds. The FIU New Music Ensemble performs Thursday, December 3 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center as part of the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts 2026-2027 season. Directed by Professor Jason Calloway, the ensemble presents works that reflect current approaches to composition, performance and interdisciplinary music-making.
The program highlights FIU’s emerging musicians in chamber works and collaborative pieces that may incorporate multimedia elements. Presented by the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts, the concert offers audiences a look at the ideas, textures and performance practices shaping contemporary concert music.
