Asiya Korepanova returns to FIU for a solo recital pairing the Romantic piano music of Carl Maria von Weber and Franz Liszt. The concert takes place Saturday, March 13 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center as part of the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts 2026-2027 season. Presented in collaboration with the South Florida Chapter of the American Liszt Society, the program includes Weber’s Piano Sonata No. 2 alongside a work by Liszt.
Known for combining virtuosic technique with wide-ranging musical interests, Korepanova is a pianist, composer and visual artist whose repertoire extends from the standard canon to less frequently performed works. The recital places Weber’s expansive sonata in dialogue with Liszt, highlighting two distinct voices of 19th-century piano music.
