Flamenco Puro: Rhythm of the Soul

Song, guitar and dance meet at close range in an intimate flamenco program led by Clarita Filgueiras. Performances take place Saturday, April 3 and Sunday, April 4 in the Black Box Theater at The Moss Center, placing audiences near the rhythmic exchanges and emotional shifts at the heart of the form.
Rooted in Andalusian tradition, Flamenco Puro: Rhythm of the Soul brings together cante (song), toque (guitar) and baile (dance). The program moves through contrasting expressions of longing, joy, sorrow and celebration while exploring duende, the elusive moment when technique gives way to instinctive connection among the performers.
Performance times are:
