Short-form cinema takes the spotlight at Deering Estate with a curated screening honoring a historic milestone.
Focus On: Celebrating Our Nation’s 250th Birthday takes place Sunday, July 12 at the Deering Estate Visitor Center Theater. Presented by the Miami Short Film Festival (MIAMIsFF) in partnership with Deering Estate, the evening features a selection of short films reflecting on the nation’s 250th anniversary. The final program will be announced.
The event begins with a welcome cocktail reception at 7 p.m., followed by the film screening at 7:30 p.m. This program includes short films recommended for ages 18 and older.
General admission is $20, with discounted tickets available for students, seniors and military at $16. Tickets are sold online only. Free parking is available in the Visitor Center lot on SW 168 Street, just west of 72nd Avenue.
Founded to champion the short film genre, the Miami Short Film Festival showcases independent films from around the world, highlighting emerging directors, writers and producers working in the 1- to 20-minute format.
