Forces of Nature: The Great Miami Brainstorm of 2126
Apr 10, 2026
From: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
An interactive workshop at a hurricane simulation lab invites participants to explore climate, storytelling and Miami’s future through a creative lens.
Forces of Nature: The Great Miami Brainstorm of 2126 takes place Saturday, April 10 at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School on Key Biscayne, hosted within the SUSTAIN Lab. The program unfolds inside a large-scale wind-wave simulation tank, creating an immersive environment for reflecting on weather, resilience and environmental change.
Guided by facilitators Christian Robert Kamrath and Ana “Sam” Pierre-Louis, participants will engage with climate narratives spanning Miami’s past, present and imagined future. Through discussion and creative prompts, the session examines the relationship between human experience and natural forces, asking how individuals and communities respond to shifting environmental conditions.
Presented with support from The CLEO Institute, the event blends science, storytelling and community dialogue as part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival’s broader exploration of place, identity and collective imagination.
