Frau Haydn in Trouble takes place Saturday, July 19 at Miami Beach Community Church, presented by Florida Arts & Culture. This original comic opera, based on a fictional account by Daniel Daroca, reimagines the life of Joseph Haydn’s lesser-known wife as she navigates the constraints of class and convention in Imperial Vienna.
Through a series of comic missteps and offbeat ideas that never quite land, Frau Haydn emerges as a spirited and endearing figure, always out of sync with her time, yet deeply relatable. Designed for children of all ages, the opera offers a lighthearted look at ambition, frustration and resilience, set to a score that complements its whimsical tone.
