Free Second Saturdays: El Monte takes place September 13 at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). Visitors of all ages are invited to experience the artists’ immersive blend of photography and sculpture, which draws from the Afro-Cuban spiritual tradition of Lucumí and Lydia Cabrera’s seminal text El Monte. Set in a space that evokes both chapel and forest, the exhibition offers a poetic meditation on nature, memory and the unseen world.
In the studio, create your own “tree of memory” using natural materials and personal symbols, reflecting on family roots, imagination and connection to place. Museum admission is free all day for participants.
