Free Second Saturdays: Weaving with Clay
Nov 14, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 03:00 PM
Bahamian palm-leaf weaving provides the starting point for a family art-making program inspired by Anina Major’s ceramics. Weaving with Clay, part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, takes place November 14 at Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Major translates straw plaiting, a craft passed down through generations, into clay sculptures that honor the labor, knowledge and cultural memory carried by the tradition. Through hands-on activities, children and adults can explore how artists reinterpret inherited practices and use art to tell their own family stories.
Museum admission is free all day, with art activities offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. RSVP is available through PAMM.
