French Weeks: The Art of Pétanque

Pétanque, the French game of tossing metal boules toward a small target ball, gets a waterfront setting at Joia Beach. The annual Art of Pétanque tournament returns Sunday, November 8, presented by the French-American Chamber of Commerce Florida as part of French Weeks Miami 2026.

Open to beginners and experienced players, the tournament combines friendly competition with a social gathering for Miami’s French-American community and visitors. Accuracy and positioning guide the play, with participants aiming to land their boules closest to the target.

Admission is limited to guests ages 21 and older.
