Freshly Rooted Stage Reading
Feb 10, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A staged reading series brings new works by award-winning playwright Bryan Keyth Wilson to the Sandrell Rivers Theater, presenting an intimate look at plays in development that examine race, power, memory and survival in contemporary America.
Presented by Brévo Theatre, Freshly Rooted Stage Reading features excerpts from Tha Otha Amerikkka, 8:46 and FAFO (F** Around and Find Out)*. Drawing on poetry, movement, documentary elements and investigative theatre, the works confront systemic injustice, collective trauma and civic responsibility through layered storytelling and multiple perspectives. Together, the readings offer a focused exploration of how history, policy and lived experience shape Black communities across generations.
The program is supported by the Warten Foundation, OurFund Foundation, Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs, Wayne and Lucretia Wiener, Latino Salud, Miami Salon Group and The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation. Recommended for mature audiences due to adult language and sensitive themes.
