A fashion-led exhibition tracing craft, culture and contemporary design comes to ICA Miami for an extended winter–spring run.
From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce & Gabbana will be on view February 6–June 14 at the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, marking the next stop for a traveling exhibition that has previously drawn large audiences in Paris, Rome and Milan. Newly conceived in dialogue with ICA Miami’s expanded home, the presentation offers a multisensory look at the designers’ approach to luxury—balancing elegance with irreverence, theatricality and a distinct Italian sensibility.
The exhibition features more than 300 pieces drawn from archival and recent collections, organized into immersive rooms that highlight how Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana translate ideas from concept to handmade realization. Themes include Italian regional traditions, artisanal craft, opera and ballet, and the enduring spirit of the dolce vita, explored through fashion, architecture and folklore.
Works by visual artists such as Quayola, Alberto Maria Colombo, Obvious, Vittorio Bonapace and Felice Limosani appear alongside the brand’s designs, emphasizing the exchange between contemporary art and Italian craftsmanship that shapes the exhibition. Curated by Florence Müller with set design by Agence Galuchat and produced by IMG, the Miami presentation continues the show’s international trajectory while adapting it to a contemporary art context.
