Nail art takes the spotlight as both cultural expression and creative industry in a film screening and discussion at HistoryMiami Museum.
Full Set: A Celebration of Miami Nail Artistry takes place Saturday, December 6, featuring the documentary Nail Tech: Portrait of an Artist (2025). The film profiles Miami-based nail artist Kro Vargas, whose bold, multi-dimensional designs have appeared in Vogue and on the hands of performers such as Ivy Queen, Rosalía, and Ice Spice. It explores her career alongside the salons and friendships that shaped it, highlighting how nail artistry reflects fashion, community, and women’s entrepreneurship in Miami.
Following the screening, a panel with filmmakers Jillian Hernandez, Elena Guzman, and Aracely García-González joins Vargas in conversation about the social and cultural impact of nail culture. Seating is first-come, first-served, and early arrival is encouraged.
