German Diction Recital: An Afternoon of German Song

German art song becomes a practical study in language and musical interpretation as FIU vocal students explore the relationship between pronunciation, text and expression. The German Diction Recital takes place Sunday, April 18 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center as part of the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts 2026-2027 season. Students from FIU’s German Diction class perform a selection of songs chosen to highlight the clarity, sound and expressive qualities of the German language.
Accompanied by instructor Dr. Vindhya Khare, the recital reflects the students’ work on German pronunciation and its application to vocal performance, connecting language study with the interpretation of art song.
