Gold Dust Lounge

Surf guitar, jazz and Americana converge in a cinematic instrumental performance led by Miami guitarist and composer Russell Mofsky. Gold Dust Lounge performs Sunday, November 8 at Lummus Park in Miami Beach as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series. Presented by the Ocean Drive Association, the weekly outdoor concerts are free and open to the public.

Mofsky’s musical background spans Miami’s late-1980s punk scene as a founding member of Quit and studies in jazz, composition and improvisation at the New England Conservatory. Gold Dust Lounge draws those influences into instrumentals built around guitar twang, reverb and loops, with references to surf rock, film noir and American roots music.

The performance takes place on the lawn between 14th Street and 14th Place. Guests may bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs; the rainy-day location is inside The Betsy Hotel. The series receives support from the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Ocean Drive Association.
