Goldmund Quartet
Mar 29, 2026
From: 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Friends of Chamber Music of Miami presents the Goldmund Quartet in concert at Bet Shira Congregation. The program features two masterworks of 19th-century chamber music: Johannes Brahms’ String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 51, known for its lyrical warmth and structural elegance, and Franz Schubert’s String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, D. 810, “Death and the Maiden,” a dramatic and emotionally charged composition that stands as one of the cornerstones of the string quartet repertoire.
Formed in 2009 in Munich, the Goldmund Quartet comprises violinists Florian Schötz and Pinchas Adt, violist Christoph Vandory, and cellist Raphael Paratore. The ensemble has garnered international acclaim for its refined interpretations and cohesive ensemble playing. Notable accolades include prizes at the 2018 International Wigmore Hall String Competition and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. In 2019, the quartet was honored with the European Concert Hall Organisation’s Rising Stars designation.
Since 2019, the Goldmund Quartet has had the opportunity to perform on the “Paganini Quartet,” a set of four Stradivarius instruments once owned by Niccolò Paganini, generously loaned by the Nippon Music Foundation.
This performance takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
