Afro-Cuban rhythms, intricate jazz harmonies and virtuosic piano improvisation shape an evening with Gonzalo Rubalcaba and his trio. The concert takes place Saturday, January 9, on the Main Stage at The Moss Center.
A multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Award winner, Rubalcaba has built an international career as a pianist, composer and bandleader. His work draws from Cuban musical traditions and modern jazz, combining technical precision with lyrical, highly expressive playing. He has also taught at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and founded 5Passion Records and the Rubalcademy music academy.
