The Miami Symphony Orchestra closes its 2025–26 season with a program that pairs classical touchstones with contemporary flair, offering a spirited finale that nods to the past while looking ahead.
Grand Season Finale takes place Sunday, May 3 in the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Led by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, the concert features narrator Tatiana Guiribitey and double bassist Luis Gómez-Imbert in a lineup that highlights both orchestral tradition and new work.
The evening opens with Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, a lively showcase of the symphony’s range. Gómez-Imbert follows with the world premiere of Chick Corea’s Concerto for Double Bass, arranged by Marturet and commissioned by MISO for its 2026 season. Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 in D major, with its pastoral warmth and graceful lyricism, brings the program to a close.
