Grand Season Opening: The Steinway Artist Series I
Nov 15, 2026
Starting: 6:00 PM
Pianist Tian Jiang joins the Miami Symphony Orchestra for a season-opening program of Romantic virtuosity and symphonic momentum at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Grand Season Opening: The Steinway Artist Series I takes place Sunday, November 15, at 6 p.m. in Knight Concert Hall.
Led by music director and conductor Eduardo Marturet, the concert opens MISO’s 2026-27 season and introduces the orchestra’s Steinway Artist Series, a season-long focus on internationally recognized Steinway pianists and piano-centered repertoire. The series is designed to pair featured soloists with symphonic works, multipiano collaborations, world premieres and major concert hall repertoire.
This opening program features Tian Jiang as soloist in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, one of the composer’s most enduring works for piano and orchestra. The concert also includes Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, framing the evening with celebratory brass writing, sweeping lyricism and rhythmic drive.
