Haitian Vinyl Night
Nov 01, 2026
Starting: 8:30 PM
Rare Haitian pressings and vintage Afro-Caribbean sounds take over ZeyZey’s indoor Tima Disco for an all-vinyl night led by Haitian-born selector and collector Patrice Espérant. Held Sunday, November 1 in Little Haiti, the Miami edition of Haitian Vinyl Night centers on konpa, zouk and other recordings drawn from Espérant’s personal collection, which has formed the basis of touring events in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and Montreal.
Miami DJ collective Rum & Coke joins as special guest. Hosted by DJ Kumi, Harold Fandino and Jesús Rodríguez, the group’s parties explore Caribbean and Latin American music with African roots, particularly recordings from the 1960s through the 1980s. Their sets move across styles including salsa, merengue, cumbia, zouk, compas, Afrobeat, Latin funk and other vintage dance-floor sounds.
Together, the two projects bring complementary approaches to archival Caribbean music, with Haitian Vinyl Night focusing on Haiti’s golden-era recordings and Rum & Coke drawing from a wider Afro-Caribbean and Latin American spectrum.
