Halloween at Rooftop Cinema Club

Two shows: 7:45 PM & 10:15 PM
John Carpenter’s landmark slasher film returns to the big screen for a Halloween-night rooftop screening in South Beach. Rooftop Cinema Club presents two showings on Saturday, October 31, pairing the 1978 horror classic with an open-air setting above Miami Beach. The film follows teenager Laurie Strode as escaped killer Michael Myers returns to the fictional town of Haddonfield, Illinois.
Directed and co-written by Carpenter with Debra Hill, Halloween helped establish many of the conventions that would define the modern slasher film. The movie marked Jamie Lee Curtis’ feature-film debut and also stars Donald Pleasence as psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. Carpenter composed the film’s minimalist, piano-driven score, which became one of horror cinema’s most recognizable themes.
Seating options include cushioned Adirondack chairs and loveseats, with some ticket packages including popcorn.
