In Conversation with Artists: Ira Wagner
Apr 26, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Photography, design and contemporary art practices take center stage during an artist conversation at The Betsy Hotel in Miami Beach. In Conversation with Artists: Ira Wagner takes place Sunday, April 26 in the Art Deco Wing’s Hohauser galleries, where hotel owner and curator Lesley Goldwasser will host a discussion with artists Ira Wagner and Lianne Jedeikin Goldsmith.
The program explores the artists’ creative paths, influences and approaches to visual storytelling. Wagner, who began studying photography after a 25-year career on Wall Street, focuses on the transformation of urban landscapes, documenting architecture and shifting city environments. He holds an MFA from Hartford Art School and teaches photography at Monmouth University. His projects include the book Houseraising, which examines the rebuilding of Jersey Shore homes following Hurricane Sandy, as well as ongoing cityscape studies across the United States. His work has appeared in publications including National Geographic and The New Republic.
Goldsmith, a Zimbabwe-born artist and designer now based in Los Angeles, brings a multicultural perspective shaped by her studies in Cape Town and her work as founder of Accentrix Design Studio. Her creative practice draws on international influences and design experience to explore visual narratives and cultural identity.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with the conversation beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes audience Q&A, light refreshments and the opportunity to view artworks displayed in The Betsy’s gallery spaces.
