Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival

Three decades of Brazilian cinema come into focus through premieres, competitive screenings, filmmaker appearances, live music and anniversary programs across Miami Beach and Downtown Miami. Running September 3 through 12, the in-person portion of the 30th Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival presents contemporary features, documentaries and shorts alongside programs reflecting on the festival’s history and its role in bringing Brazilian filmmaking to international audiences. Competitive selections vie for the Crystal Lens Awards, while additional screenings and special events broaden the program beyond the competition.

This milestone edition also honors actress and director Glória Pires, whose career is represented through screenings and a closing-night tribute. Pires presents Sexa, her fiction feature directorial debut, as well as the world premiere of If I Were You 3. The festival’s competitive lineup includes U.S., international, Florida and world premieres, with filmmakers and other guests attending select screenings.

In-Person Highlights

• September 3-4: Documentary competition at O Cinema South Beach, featuring U.S. and international premieres with filmmakers in attendance and post-screening discussions.
• September 5: Viva Brazil marks the 30th anniversary at the Miami Beach Bandshell with the first international screening of Pedro Antônio’s comedy Very Special Agents, a capoeira performance and a live musical program led by singer-songwriter Maurício Baia with guest artists.
• September 6-7: Panorama screenings at O Cinema South Beach present recent films outside the competition, including select sessions with filmmakers and cast members.
• September 8-11: Competitive features and shorts screen at Silverspot Cinema in Downtown Miami, with entries competing for the Crystal Lens Awards.
• September 12: The festival concludes its Miami program at Silverspot Cinema with the Crystal Lens Awards, a tribute to Glória Pires, a screening of Sexa and a closing reception.

Student programming at Miami Beach Senior High School and Ada Merritt K-8 Center extends the festival into local schools.

Online Streaming

After the Miami screenings conclude, the festival continues September 13 through 30 on Inffinito.plus with free streaming available with registration. The online program includes a Glória Pires retrospective, a collection of biographical films centered on figures and institutions in Brazilian culture and a 30th-anniversary selection revisiting Crystal Lens Award winners from previous editions.
