Joshua Kane: In My Own Lifetime
Feb 28, 2027
Two shows: 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM
Golden Age Broadway songs and personal storytelling come together in a one-man performance exploring how musical theater shaped Joshua Kane’s sense of Jewish identity. Presented by the City of Aventura, the show takes place Sunday, February 28, at 2 and 5 p.m. at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.
Kane blends humor and reflection with songs by composers and lyricists including Sheldon Harnick, Jerry Bock, Harold Rome, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Lorenz Hart, Sylvia Fine, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Drawing on his childhood and career, he considers what happens when Broadway musicals become a source of family history, cultural connection and guidance.
An actor, storyteller and voice artist, Kane has performed across North America for more than three decades. His solo shows combine theatrical monologue, character work and music, while his voice has also appeared in documentaries, public radio dramas and audiobooks.
