July at CAMP: Opening Reception
Jul 11, 2025
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Explore photography’s power to tell layered and transformative stories at the opening reception for two new exhibitions at The CAMP Gallery in North Miami.
On view beginning Friday, July 11, The Eye, The Lens, The Story and Untitled: HerStory present complementary explorations of identity, intimacy and the human experience through photographic art. Spanning CAMP’s gallery spaces at 791 and 793, The Eye, The Lens, The Story marks the gallery’s first dedicated photography group show, featuring works by eight artists: Xan Padron, RemiJin Camping, Alice de Kruijs, Carol Erb, Natalie Obermaier, Naomi White, Marisa S. White and Rosana Machado Rodriguez. The exhibition examines the human body, the natural world and emotional memory through a variety of real and altered photographic techniques.
Xan Padron brings a documentarian’s eye to city life and movement, while South Florida-based RemiJin Camping filters emotional landscapes through symbolic objects and scenes. Alice de Kruijs explores cultural identity through fine-art portraiture, and Carol Erb creates surreal digital composites reflecting psychological and spiritual themes. Naomi White’s work critiques social and ecological systems through a feminist lens, and Natalie Obermaier moves between black-and-white portraiture and hand-cut collage. Marisa S White blends photography and surrealism to express intangible emotional states, while Rosana Machado Rodriguez’s practice bridges photography, ceramics and textile interventions to explore human relationships in social environments.
Untitled: HerStory, a two-person exhibition also opening that evening, considers untold narratives within the institution of marriage. Together, the exhibitions invite viewers to reflect on how visual storytelling shapes collective and personal histories. Admission is free and open to the public.
