King Mango Strut Parade
Jan 04, 2026
Starting: 2:00 PM
A satirical parade returns to Coconut Grove as the King Mango Strut takes over Commodore Plaza and Main Highway for an afternoon of humor, costume pageantry and neighborhood flair. The annual event draws thousands of spectators to watch local groups reinterpret the year’s headlines through parody, performance and mango-themed irreverence.
Now in its 42nd year, the Strut carries forward its beginnings as a tongue-in-cheek response to the King Orange Bowl Jamboree Parade. This edition embraces the theme “This is fine,” inspired by the internet meme that captures the absurdity of staying calm amid chaos—a fitting lens for the Strut’s mix of wit and cultural commentary. Participants range from longtime neighborhood ensembles to new groups presenting original sketches, characters and satirical floats.
Taking place on Saturday, January 4, the parade starts at the corner of Commodore Plaza and Main Highway, continues along Grand Avenue and loops back to Commodore Plaza, where festivities continue with live entertainment. Open to all ages and free to attend, the Strut remains a hallmark of Coconut Grove’s offbeat creativity and its tradition of bringing the community together in spirited, good-humored fashion.
