La Descarga con Albita

Cuban singer Albita brings live music, traditional rhythms and contemporary energy to the Westchester Cultural Arts Center. La Descarga con Albita takes place Saturday, August 15 at 9 p.m., with doors opening at 8 p.m. Presented by Caro Entertainment, the concert centers on the descarga tradition, a loose, improvisational style rooted in Cuban music and live performance.

Albita is known for renewing traditional Cuban sounds while preserving their rhythmic and cultural foundations. Her career includes two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award and Cuba’s Orden por la Cultura Nacional, one of the country’s major artistic distinctions.

The performance is presented fully live, with Albita revisiting Cuban musical traditions through a concert format designed to keep the repertoire fresh, expressive and connected to its roots.
