Learning Watercolors with Alejandro Piñeiro Bello

Artworks, sunlight and garden landscapes become starting points for a family watercolor workshop at ICA Miami. Learning Watercolors with Alejandro Piñeiro Bello takes place Sunday, November 8 at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami in the Miami Design District.

Families create paintings on paper, exploring the medium’s fluid qualities while drawing inspiration from the museum’s exhibitions, surrounding architecture and natural environment. Piñeiro Bello is a Havana-born, Miami-based painter whose work explores Caribbean identity and memory. The workshop is part of I Create Art, ICA Miami’s six-part series connecting families with contemporary artists through hands-on activities.

The program begins with an artist meet-and-greet and refreshments at 11 a.m. The painting workshop runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by lunch in the ICA Miami Sculpture Garden.

Registration is $50 per person for both adults and children, including lunch. Each registration must include at least one adult and one child. Children should be ages 6 or older.
