Starting: 8:00 PM
Cuban singer-songwriter Leoni Torres brings his blend of romantic balladry, salsa, pop and traditional Cuban music to the James L. Knight Center for a Valentine’s weekend concert. Taking place Saturday, February 13, the performance marks the 10th anniversary of Un Clásico de Amor, a recurring Miami concert built around Torres’ songs of love and relationships.
Torres has built a solo career spanning 10 studio albums, with songs including “Para Que Un Día Vuelvas,” “Las Cosas Que Te Pido,” “Toda Una Vida” and “Me Quedo Contigo.” His albums Alma Cubana and Canten – Homenaje a Polo Montañez received consecutive Latin Grammy nominations for Best Traditional Tropical Album, while his songwriting on “Traidora,” recorded by Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony, earned recognition from ASCAP.
The concert arrives during a new chapter for Torres following the release of his 10th studio album, Cualquiera Se Enamora, continuing a repertoire that moves between contemporary Latin pop, salsa and Cuban musical traditions.
