Sweat Records hosts an intimate evening of live music with Miami-based group Buko Boys, offering fans a first listen to material from their upcoming debut album. Live at Sweat: Buko Boys takes place Saturday, May 10, and is free with RSVP.
This stripped-down showcase highlights the songwriting and creative process behind Float, the group’s debut album set for release in June 2025. The performance offers a more personal, acoustic take on their usual dreamy blend of bossa nova rhythms and indie-pop melodies. Attendees can expect a relaxed, all-ages setting with refreshments provided by the Buko Café pop-up from Pigeon Society.
Formed by Raquel Lily—who originally rose to prominence on Twitch after shifting from a career in medicine and a degree in neurobiology —the band features keyboardist/producer Mart, drummer Jonathan Ziegler, guitarist aron! and bassist Aidan McCarthy. Together, they craft a sound rooted in both their Miami home and Filipino heritage, creating laid-back grooves with a global touch.
