Live Music: Intergenerational Jazz with the Ellis Duo

Jazz standards become a meeting point for musicians of different generations at The Betsy–South Beach, where vocalist Cindy Ellis and pianist Ryan Ellis anchor an evening of shared performances. Intergenerational Jazz with the Ellis Duo takes place Friday, November 13 at the Miami Beach hotel, with guest appearances by students, emerging artists and seasoned professionals.

Cindy Ellis, a Cuban-American vocalist and conductor, has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Adrienne Arsht Center and the Kennedy Center. Ryan Ellis combines a career as a touring jazz pianist with his work as an award-winning Miami-Dade County Public Schools music educator. Together, they provide the musical foundation for a program centered on jazz repertoire, mentorship and exchange across generations.
