Featuring acclaimed soloists and ensemble players, the concert offers an opportunity to experience both rarely heard and cornerstone compositions in a single, tightly curated presentation.
Twilight and Fire, part of the Mainly Mozart Festival, takes place Saturday, May 31 at the New World Center. The program begins with intimate vocal and string works, including Schumann’s Widmung, Brahms’ Im Herbst and Fanny Mendelssohn’s expressive and underperformed string quartet—works that emphasize lyrical phrasing and emotional subtlety. The second half features Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat Major, a landmark of the Romantic chamber repertoire known for its bold character and structural innovation.
Performers include violinists Julian Rhee and Misha Vitenson, violist Michael Klotz, cellist Jonah Kim and pianist Marina Radiushina—an ensemble of internationally recognized artists whose collective interpretation highlights the work’s depth and vitality.
Presented by the Miami Chamber Music Society, the Mainly Mozart Festival runs on select dates from May 16 through June 6, marking its 32nd season with programs that reflect a balance of tradition and forward-thinking collaboration.
