Lakou in Little Haiti hosts a night where Latin rhythms meet funky Southern rock, powered by Miami duo MAMA FUMA. Formerly known as Guerra Grooves, the group blends original grooves with soulful mashups, drawing on influences from Lauryn Hill to James Brown while weaving in their Cuban-American heritage.
Mama Fuma Live at Lakou takes place Saturday, August 30. Led by bassist Ariel de la Portilla (Ariel DLP) and vocalist Nikki Guerra, MAMA FUMA delivers high-energy performances that fuse Caribbean funk, Southern rock and soul. The show adds to Lakou’s growing reputation as a community-rooted venue showcasing live music in the heart of Little Haiti.
